The Pastoral Pig is a whole animal butcher shop focused on pasture raised meats, sourced locally from farmers that follow the highest standards of animal husbandry. Our goal is to provide our customers with the most nutritious and delicious meat available – this all begins with animals that have been raised humanely, in their natural environments, grazing on pasture and eating grass and quality feeds. Our butchering and cooking is all done on premises, starting from whole animals that have been carefully bred, fed, raised and harvested. Each of these steps is equally important, and given the time and care that’s gone into raising meat this way, we strive towards a “nose to tail” approach to using everything.

The benefits of eating pasture raised animals are so vast and far reaching… here are just a few.
Meat from grass-fed animals is far healthier than grain fed / feed-lot alternatives (lower in fat and calories, contains 2-4x times more omega-3 fatty acids, richest source of CLA which has been shown to reduce the risks of cancer, significantly higher in Vitamin E… the list goes on and on). When you purchase meat from grass fed animals, you are supporting farmers who believe in the humane treatment of animals, and raising them without the use of hormones, steroids, antibiotics and cheap filler feeds – all the things required with today’s factory farming. Once again, mother nature had it right… we believe animals that are raised as nature intended produce the best meat …and that you can taste the difference!
